The Gur-e Amir Mausoleum is a historic and architecturally significant site known for Tamerlane's Final Resting Place: The Gur-e Amir Mausoleum is the burial place of Tamerlane (Timur), the renowned 14th-century Central Asian conqueror. His tomb is at the center of the mausoleum. Originally constructed for Timur's grandson, Muhammad Sultan, it became Timur's final resting place after his death in 1405. Several other members of the Timurid dynasty were also buried there.
