LISTVAYANKA is a city-type settlement in the Irkutsk oblast, Russia, located seventy kilometres from the town of Irkutsk on the left bank of the Angara River. Listvyanka can be reached by bus or ferry, and has a population of 1,882 inhabitants according to the 2010 Census. Despite its small size, Listvyanka has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Siberia. Because of its close proximity to the town, it probably receives more visitors than all the towns and villages on the lake Baikal, especially weekending Irkutskians and foreign tourists, who prefer the wilder places on the lake. Lisvyanka is relatively well developed, with a tourist market, picnic areas, and many hotels and cafes.
