Experience VDNKH Park

VDNKH, formerly known as the All-Russian Exhibition Centre, is a vast park of lush greenery, featuring fountains, cafes and restaurants, and is one of the most sought-after resting spots in Moscow. The Central Pavilion, which was originally home to a large illuminated map of the Soviet Union, the diorama of Lenin's hometown, and a hydroelectric power station, is now home to 16 gilded sculptures of maidens dressed in national costumes from the sixteen Soviet Republics, surrounded by a large wheat sheaf. In the center of the park, a replica of the Soviet rocket, the Vostok, was erected in 1964 to commemorate the achievements of the Soviet Union in that field. Nearby is an ancient Yak-42 jet, whose paintings commemorate the Soviet victory in World War II. The park is a must-visit for anyone visiting Moscow, and there are many other attractions nearby, such as the Cosmonaut Museum, the Space Obelisk, the Alley of the Cosmonauts, and the Ostankino Television Tower.
